This website has been compiled, and will be continuously developed and maintained, by the Research Group within Thame Historical Society.

It uses published sources as well as the work of local individuals to reveal something of the rich and diverse history of the market town of Thame in Oxfordshire.

It is intended as a resource for local researchers, as well as hopefully an informative guide for the casual visitor.

The aim of the Research Group has always been to computerise local historical information in order to make it accessible to others.

The early focus of its work was concerned with parish records and local property deeds.

This website has a much wider scope, but the philosophy remains the same. Information is freely provided here for interest and for research purposes.

The Research Group would welcome any feedback on this website.

Comments on anything contained on this website are very welcome, as are requests for further information.

Above all, the Research Group would encourage contributions.
