Local Board of Health formed. A new Congregationalist Chapel opened in the High Street. |

| 1874 | Friday Street was renamed North Street. | |
| 1875 | The Wesleyan Chapel in Upper High Street was destroyed by fire and rebuilt. | |

Thame Grammar School sold the Saracen's head to Francis Seymour.
More The girl's school moved to the old Grammar School building. |

| 1879 | Lord Williams Grammar School opened on Oxford Road. | |
