Trade directories were printed in order to provide
information on local traders and services. For the local historian, they provide useful information of the occupations of town residents, which often supplements such information contained in census returns. Care must be taken however as information was often copied from the previous year, and may not always be wholly accurate. If anyone knows of or has a copy of any other trade directory, or any source of similar information, please let us know at database@ThameHistory.net. |
